        THE KNIGHT

    9mm MAC-11 PLATFORM

==========================

Welcome to the second release from the Chess Series by unseenkiller, the Knight! The Knight is a 9mm MAC-11 platform designed to use STEN magazines, with no feed ramp and an AR-15 fire control group (FCG). There are files available for fixed stocks, telescoping stocks or braces, and a version without a rear!

The printed magazines available for this project have been observed to cycle significantly better than metal magazines. This is primarily due to differences in rear mag catch cavity heights among manufacturers. Be sure to print all the release heights and test them with your magazines to ensure proper fit if using metal. If you’re just printing your magazines, use the zero heights.

The Knight also includes specific handguards exclusively for the JC ARMS 16” MAC-11 monolithic steel upper! These can be found here: JC Arms 16” Rifle Upper

Be sure to check out Print Your 2A for other build parts kits as well!

   4.1 Frame

4.1.1 Install the trigger, hammer, safety selector, and your choice of pistol grip.

4.1.2 Insert the tombstone PMAC reinforcement into the hood (with dimples facing down).

4.1.3 Insert an M4 nut into the rear of your choice (pic rail or pistol cover).

4.1.4 Slide the rear into the hood and bolt an M4-15 through the tombstone.

4.1.5 Insert M3 and M4 nuts into the rear blind pockets.

4.1.6 Compress the hood onto the lower receiver.

4.1.7 Bolt 3x M3 screws and 1x M4 screw through the hood from the rear.

4.1.8 Insert a die cut spring into the mag release cavity.

          1. Cut it in half if using a right-side release.

4.1.9 Attach the mag release with an M3 SHCS and nut.

4.1.10 Slide the PMAC trunnion reinforcement into the trunnion cover and bolt it to the trunnion cover with an M4 SHCS and hex nut.

          1. Skip this step if using the JC Arms upper.

4.1.11 Bolt M4 SHCS screws and nuts through the trunnion cover and lower receiver.

      4.1.12 Drop the hammer.

4.2.2 Insert the rod into the pic rail mount, then stack the frame, liners, and rear locker (or brace locker) onto the threaded rod.

4.2.3 Hand-tighten the 1/4-20 nut onto the excess threaded rod at the rear, then cut off the excess with a Dremel or bolt cutters (some excess is fine).

4.2.4 Use the rear pad or brace pad to tighten the rear 1/4-20 nut until the stock reaches the desired firmness.

4.2.5 Attach the rear pad or brace pad using M3-20 SHCS screws and nuts.

4.2.6 Secure the desired cheek rest to the frame with M3-20 SHCS screws and nuts.

   4.3 Telescope

4.3.1 Attach nuts to one end of each threaded rod.

4.3.2 Insert the threaded rod into the stock or brace of your choice, ensuring the exposed rod faces away from your shoulder.

4.3.3 Slide threaded rod covers over the threaded rod, with notches facing up.

4.3.4 Cut the die cut spring in half.

4.3.5 Insert half of an 8mm x 20mm die cut spring into the side of the mounting base.

4.3.6 Slide the locking button all the way in (this should hold the spring in place).

4.3.7 Insert the stock or brace through the rear holes while depressing the locking button.

4.3.8 Slide caps over the threaded rod sleeves.

4.3.9 Finish by tightening hex nuts onto the threaded rods.
