** FUBAR-19 / FUBAR-17 / FU19X / 8bit FMDA19.2 **
This design was created for the JSD Invitational 2022 design contest, in which competitors were tasked with giving the FMDA a makeover that is aesthetically pleasing when paired with the Revelation slide from Patmos Arms.
The FUBAR-19 was the entry for this contest. Other included frames (FUBAR-17, FU19X and 8-bit FMDA19.2) were also developed.
The FUBAR-19 is a 3D printable handgun receiver for use with Glock 19 Gen3 parts. It uses DD19.2 rails and shares the same internal geometry as the thoroughly vetted FMDA 19.2. The FUBAR-19 features an ultra-extended wristguard/beavertail and integrated spare magazine holder.
Two preexisting models were used in the creation of this monstrosity:
- https://grabcad.com/library/ar-grip-1
The models were heavily edited and combined with polygons of my own creation. The resulting solid was then cut using the DD19.2 die from my Glock build kit (https://odysee.com/@philphisher:0/buildkit:b), which was developed from the exact version of the FMDA 19.2 specified in the contest rules. The majority of the work was done in Fusion360, aided by Meshmixer and Blender for some final production steps.
Because of the size and complexity of this model, it will be challenging for beginners to print successfully. It's easier on printers with larger print beds, but can be printed on a basic Ender 3 if you tilt the model >20 degrees and rotate it 45 degrees on the XY plane. Personally I prefer printing rails down with tree supports. Warning: your print may fail or look horrible unless your printer is dialed in.
This release includes both left- and right-handed frames. Left handed frames will require that you print the included left handed magazine release.
BONUS ITEMS:
Also included in this release are:
- FUBAR-17. Just as stupid, but with FMDA17.2 geometry.
- 8bit remix of the FMDA19.2
Enjoy!
